Can't disable IPv6 in Mint 17

I'm trying to disable IPv6 since my router doesn't seem to be well-behaved with it. So I've put this in /etc/sysctl.conf:

Furthermore, the eth0 parameter didn't seem to take effect:

Should be able to set Ipv6 to ignore in network manager

Okay, so it turns out that it was NetworkManager which was overwriting the sysctl parameter. I set IPv6 to ignore in the NetworkManager. Now it stays disabled. I still need the sysctl parameters, though. Thanks to all.

Annoyingly, the web pages that I found on disabling IPv6 in Mint only discussed setting the sysctl parameters. None of them mentioned that the NetworkManager might overwrite those parameters.

If you are using LM 17 cinnamon, the network manager functions identical to Ubuntu 14.04 so searching ubuntuforums might be helpful

I have the same Problem. I am beginner in Linux. Could you let me know how you set IPv6 to ignore in the NetworkManager. Also, can I add Lines to my sysctl.conf using GUI and the editor? Right now the document is protected
