How to open a port / make sure it's open

Post by commandrix » Sat Jun 13, 2015 7:32 pm

Right now I'm trying to troubleshoot a problem with a cryptocurrency wallet and someone suggested to me that I make sure Port 45444 is open. Can someone tell me what that is, how I can make sure it's open, and how to open it if it isn't?

first you must verrify if you are proteted by a firewall ; if not, install one of your choice.

e.g : ufw (usually yet installed per default , ufw status ?) and gufw (gui)

then add your port.

= 5 minutes

ps: see command on the terminal about ufw status

Code: Select all

sudo ufw status
to see if you're running ufw (firewall).

If you're using ufw
sudo ufw allow 45444

If you're not using ufw, pretty sure you're done.
