No network after sleep (Alienware 17 R3) (SOLVED)

Post by shx »

Hello,

I have this computer on Mint 18 Sarah, it is equipped with:
- Killer E2400 Gigabit Ethernet Controller (alx driver)
- Killer 1535 QCA6174 802.11ac Wireless (ath10k driver)

I can put it to sleep or hibernation without problem, but after it, I have not network anymore. After a reboot, everything is working perfectly.
I try to re-start the network, modprobe -r/modprobe everything related to network without success. Removing the cable and re-inserting has not effect. Using the wireless keyboard 'rkill' neither (This switch works correctly after a reboot).

As it is both wired and wireless, I supposed it is not driver related but I may be completely wrong.

I check the difference between lsmod after reboot and after sleep and it is:
ctr, ccm, arc4 and aesni_intel with used 1/2 normally and 0 otherwise, but I supposed this is the consequence of no network and not the cause are these modules are crypto-related. Again, just a guess.

So now, I am at a loss, I supposed the problem is one step 'higher' than the network as it concern both cards but have no idea even where to start looking as everything else is working fine except network and after reboot absolutely everything is working great)

So if you have any idea/reference to start debugging this issue...

Oh, and I check the BIOS, it is the last version (which doesn't mean it is not buggy, Dell...), and under windows it works as designed.

Thanks a lot for your time,

----Edit
Some more information, the more I look, the more I think the problem is probably not network related but something else. ACPI ??
So maybe another forum who be better, which one??

If a try a 'freeze' power state, everything continue to work.
For a 'mem', with debug enable here what the logs give me:
