Let's say you are connecting to a Linksys ac2600 router, which comes with ”smart wifi”app, which, I believe, lets the admin log every where you visit.
Is there any way to keep your websurfing private?
how to surf privately on router that lets admin log URLs

Use a VPN or Tor Browser?
Some broadband modems come with a VPN server, so you can set up your broadband modem at home as a VPN server and connect to it from whichever public / untrusted network you are on. Some also support dynamic DNS services so you can use a name instead of an IP address (which may change over time, depending on your ISP).

What about surfing with the Opera browser with its built-in VPN?
What about a VPN-browser? Opera comes with VPN. Would that work?xenopeek wrote:Use a VPN or Tor Browser?

No. See https://www.opera.com/turbo.
I.e., turbo isn't used for secured websites.Depending on the Opera product you are using, your connections to secure websites may either be made directly without using turbo compression, or they may be made via our turbo compression servers.
With most of our products, if you browse a secure site with turbo mode enabled, like your bank or email, we get out of the way.
