Hi. I'm using the version 18.2 Cinnamon 64 bit. When I fill in the user field and click to enter the password nothing happens. Does not change the screen to enter password.

Which browser are you using? Chrome? Firefox?
Do you get the same problem if you log in to Mint as a different user? Or use the live Mint?
Mint 18.2 Cinnamon, Quad core AMD A8-3870 with Radeon HD Graphics 6550D, 8GB DDR3, Ralink RT2561/RT61 802.11g PCI

can you give some more information:
+45 what he said, as you've provided absolutely none OP. It's highly annoying to people responding to this, to have to read your mind without even the most basic information on the issue. Which browser etc are you using, do you have extensions which block cookies/javascript ... that kind of thing running ?

If this works, you owe me $26.23 ... Which is a steal compared to what the psychic network or some tarot card reader or fortune teller would've charged. I accept cash, cash and/or cash. :P

get out while you can, drop all google accounts like hot potatoes!
it will lift a weight off your chest you didn't even know was there.
Personally haven't experienced this phenomenon though seldom ever use any of the Gmail or Google accounts I setup for one reason or another. For all I know, could be locked out of them all right now.

Hi "Robson68",

Welcome to the wonderful world of Linux Mint and its excellent forum !

It would help to know more about your system setup. If you run "inxi -Fxzd" from the console terminal prompt, highlight the results, copy and paste them back here, that should provide enough information.

Where are you trying to login from, your browser, if so which one, or another Internet application?

I am not having any problems logging in to my Google Mail (Gmail), or other Google stuff.

Hope this helps ...

Hi "lmintnewb2", & Anyone Else Interested In this,

Regarding this quote.

I think Google is a wonderful company to offer so many free services to everyone. I love my Gmail accounts, Google Voice and Hangouts, Calendar and Tasks, Google Drive cloud storage, Google online office (Docs, etc...), etc... I can easily sync my various desktop applications with their services as well.

Google's services are very secure if you use a good password (17-20 charascters) and change it every now and then. They have 2 factor authentication and a new even more secure option. These can interfere with certain 3rd party applications, like chat messengers, etc... But, they have ways of handling (getting around) that as well.

I do not necessarily like Google's, or anyone else's, data gathering policies, which is why I use various privacy browser add-ons, change my local DNS server IP addresses, and use a VPN connection. Using safe search websites like these below is also a good idea too.

6 Best Private Search Engines for Anonymous Web Surfing
https://techreviewpro.com/best-private- ... ing-12215/

I have found that when using a VPN provider, if you switch VPN servers frequently, then Google's security alerts can be a pain and will prevent you from logging in until you verify yourself, sometimes frequently. But, if you use the same VPN servers, you only have to Google verify yourself once for each VPN server.

Hope this helps ...

Just post the whole thing, please. Enclose it in code tags (use the 'code' button above the box where you write your message) for easier reading, because it retains the formatting.

As an example, here's mine. This is how you do it:
