Dell 5809e Mobile Broadband not connecting to network

Hello,

I'm struggling to get my Dell e7250 to connect to mobile broadband using the built in 5809e WWAN card. It's listed in a usb-devices output and shown in Network Manager, where my provider is also correctly shown. I can't seem to click on the network to make a connection, or enter the settings screen to configure anything.

I made an attempt at adding a udev rule (I changed the product ID to match that shown above) along the lines of https://andidittrich.de/2015/12/ubuntu- ... -card.html, but that just made the Mobile Broadband section disappear from Network Manager. Not sure what else to try.

Thanks. That kernel patch presumably has the same effect as the udev rule, and would explain why adding such a rule has no impact.

It seems the card is now not playing overly nicely in Windows either, so it might be past its best. Guess I'll keep tethering to my phone.
