I love Linux Mint's ease-of-use. As a novice/amateur Linux hobbyist who values these sorts of open communities, I have learned enough to use my Dell XPS 13 9360 (8th Gen Intel, but BEFORE they went with the refreshed chassis -- that's the 9370 I believe) with Linux Mint as its sole OS. I'm running 18.3 Cinnamon 64-bit; Cinnamon Version 3.6.7; Kernel 4.13.0-45-generic. Everything was easy to install and it is working beautifully. Glad you guys accept Monero for donations!
Current Issue
What is not working for me though is configuring my home network or the path of communication between my laptop and my home scanner. It is a Brother ADS-1000W and in setting it up I was intrigued by this thread; so I began delving into vsftpd and the configuring my home network, scanner, etc. I've gotten it to work where I scan a paper via gscan2pdf over WiFi on my laptop and the PDF will be imported into the application for editing/saving. That's all well and good. However, I hoped to re-create the setup in the aforementioned thread where I can simply place a paper in my scanner, push a button on it, and have it automatically be thrown into a specified directory or folder on my laptop -- something like a 'Scans' folder.
I've followed this guide to try and set it up appropriately. My current vsftpd.config file is as follows:
