Bridging Linux kernel 4.18-0-15

Post by ntrcessor »

Bridging is broken in the latest kernel update.

When a bridge is enabled in 4.18.0-15 I begin having 50% or greater packet loss across all interfaces. Rolling back to 4.15.0-47 fixes the issue.

At first I thought I was having hardware issues, but ruled that out when bridging was off I had no issues, however, I use several VM's which require bridging to be active so I can get them on the network I need them on.

Not having filed a bug report before, I don't know where I'd go to do that/how to do that.

Was also wondering if anyone else had this issue.
Some hardware specifics in case it's related to driver issues:
Dell Precision T5500
Ethernet controller: Broadcom Inc. NetXtreme BCM5761 Gigabit Ethernet PCIe (rev 10)
using kernel built-in driver (no module listed) dmesg:
tg3 0000:06:00.0 eth0: Tigon3 [partno(BCM95761) rev 5761100] (PCI Express)

But based on that, it's probably upstream....
