Quick SAMBA smb.conf question

Post by extre248 » Wed Jul 03, 2019 11:32 am

Hello people. I have been using LinuxMint for a few months now on my Desktop and have been so impressed I have decided to put it on my home server as well :D
I have setup Samba and have created a few shared directories but have a question regarding the PATH of one share.

I want to share a Google Drive folder over the network, how do I format the path when it has a space in the folder name?
This is the section of my smb.conf file I have the issue with.

Code: Select all

[share2]
path = /media/server/Users/Administrator/Google Drive
available = yes
valid users = server
read only = no
browseable = yes
public = yes
writeable = yes
Any help much appreciated.

Figured that out after much trial and error. Quotation marks did the trick.

Code: Select all

[share2]
path = "/media/server/Users/Administrator/Google Drive"
available = yes
valid users = server
read only = no
browseable = yes
public = yes
writeable = yes
