Remote control from Windows

Post by dehaybe » Fri Aug 30, 2019 10:32 am

I received a beefy computer at work with good specs for scientific computing. I would like to be able to connect from my windows laptop when I'm homeworking and be able to use the software installed on it. What kind of tool can I use for that ? It should be secure of course. And I also would like to be able to remotely wake up the computer in the morning. I cannot really ask someone to turn it on every day.

The remote computer runs on Linux Mint 19 and my laptop is on Windows 10.

Thank you for your advice.

Plenty of choices, teamviewer and nomachine being just two. Having said that I couldn't get nomachine to work over the WAN (no problems on the LAN), but didn't try very hard. Teamviewer worked 'out of the box'.
