Local Mirrors

Post by blueocean » Mon Sep 09, 2019 7:58 pm

I've experimented a bit with switching to a local mirror for updates. For y hughesnet satellite the speeds are much faster most of the time for various universities and orgs like kernel.org and Harvard and Clarkston etc. Are there any suggestions for the most consistent speedy choices for the USA in general or is it just try different ones? I live in Idaho.

Does the integrated speed test not work for you? When you open the list of mirrors it tries downloading from all of them and sorts the fastest ones to the top.

Yes it does, but speeds vary a lot hourly. That's why I was wondering which might be the best choices for uniformity and speed.
