Port forwarding or firewall

Post by NumberSeventeen »

Hello forum.

Since I'm running linux Mint I have some troubles with my applications.
But Deluge and AMSN are not working 100% the way I want them to work.

In AMSN I can't use my webcam and can't transfer files.
In Deluge my speed is like 10kb/s (while I have 100mb internet).

I did some port forwarding on my Linksys WRT120NL router.
Forwarded 6890 - 6899 for AMSN
Forwarded 6880 - 6889 for deluge
Forwarded 21 for FTP

My FTP server works great, the other two not.

My default Linux Mint firewall is not running for as far as I know.
Did an "ufw disable" to be sure.

The port checker in AMSN tells me: "You are firewalled or behind a router"

Anyone has any idea's?

Since the router also privides NAT translation (usually) giving your inside network/your LAN a private address block (10x, 172x or 192x), you could probably safely stop the Linux firewall on your system and see if the router's port forwarding is working by itself..

Did an "ufw disable" to be sure.
So my firewall is off.

Unless there is an other firewall in Mint 10 that I am not aware off.

It is not a webcam problem. My webcam works fine in Empathy or Google Talk.
And there is more wrong then just the webcam.

Tried most of the AMSN FAQ but that is not the problem I gues.
It has to be something with the network connection.

If I try an online port tester I get messages like: "The port is closed"
