Leaflet for counters and billboards

Post by Kirara »

First of all, I just made this up in Writer without any specific knowledge in design or marketing.

I just realized that many stores still provide space (counter, billboard) for leaflets or advertisements.

With the end of Windows 7 support and Linux Mint promotion in mind, do you think it would be ok to hand out something like this?

It would be small, could be translated easily and printed fairly quick in greater numbers.
The leaf logo probably even could be replaced by a QR code (taken one knows how to do that).

What do you think?

Great, thanks! (^.-)b

Is there any minimal size the QR code image should have?
Right now it would look like this:

Note that the blue line would be the crop mark.

My phone can scan that off the screen just fine. Is there any chance you can remove the underlining of the URL? It looks a bit messy.

Nice idea. Would be interested to see it without that inner border, and maybe making the outer border a bit thicker and the same colour as the logo?
Thinking the simpler the better.

Thank you.
Actually the idea would be to have no border at all.
The inner border will serve as cropping mark, the outer border is just created by the forum software.

Good stuff.

Also now thinking about what catches peoples eyes.

What about a bit of extra space above and below the URL line with the words "Free at linuxmint.com". (Free being the initial hook).

Anyway, just a thought.

"Free" is always good to hook them in!

I fully agree on the hook.
However in the end there's no thing like for free, isn't it?

So we have:

and

For now I'll go with these and see how it works.

Below I attached the writer document.
Feel free to use it.

I think this is a good idea, but I also think there should be some type of full page or maybe half page fliers put together advertising Linux Mint.

Something like this could be put together in Libre Office Draw, there could be bullet points on it highlighting the features of Linux Mint.

The fliers could be left in libraries, laundromats and even on cars. This could be very helpful in exposing new people to Mint.
