You may not have to pay $ 2 million. But you can hardly expect to pay less 20,000 dollars.SpongebobFan1994 wrote: ⤴Thu Sep 03, 2020 10:12 amI doubt they're greedy enough to want $2,000,000 for a 30 second advertisement.SpongebobFan1994 wrote: ⤴Wed Sep 02, 2020 10:52 pm
Then you obviously didn't read any of my comments in this post, because I said I'd look into hiring and paying them myself

Perhaps a local radio announcer would cost less

Okay, if that's what they want, that's what I'll pay themDAMIEN1307 wrote: ⤴Thu Sep 03, 2020 10:36 am Remember when i posted this ?This was a quote from one of the agencies that represents these famous people.Celebrities are always way over scale and can range from $10,000 to $100,000 a session – not including residuals and/or points. The debate on the ROI benefit of hiring famous people for voiceover is still alive, but it appears it’s more a waste of cash rather than a boon for moving product or people.
Hope you have got serious cash available...DAMIEN

You could involve someone like this if possible: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeff_Minter
Or you could pay some random celeb on the website Cameo, which allows people to pay them for video greetings. Might be possible to get them to say "Linux Mint is great" lol

You don't need a well known actor to do a voice over. For example, Arby's has gotten a lot of mileage from an unknown actor who just sounds like James Earl Jones.
This will be far more expensive than you realize, though. Commercials do not get aired for free. You have to pay for each time it gets aired on every station, etc. Even at only a dollar per airing, that will run into the thousands, if not tens of thousands or more, dollars to get any coverage worth the effort.
You might have better luck lobbying a manufacturer that already sells computers with Linux installed to do these commercials (although I don't know of any that install Mint).
