Ok, I installed Qsynth, Linthesia, Rosengarten... but they playing .midi files with no sound coming out... just silence. In what direction I have to go to hear it? Any ideas?
Rosengarten says, that there is no snd_rtctimer. I was looking for it in synaptic, but with no success. Could it be the only problem, cose I installed Rosengarten with Synaptic and there should be all dependences solved. Synaptic reported me no problems, and now what? - That.

timidity -iA -OsRe: Just found - .midi files are not playing in Katya
Hi, kelebek333! I tried it, but with no success. It says, that timidity is already installed.
Here, what I got in terminal:
dais@dais-Compaq ~ $ sudo apt-get install timidity
[sudo] password for dais:
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
timidity is already the newest version.
timidity set to manually installed.

dais@dais-Compaq ~ $ timidity -iA -Os
Requested buffer size 32768, fragment size 8192
ALSA pcm 'default' set buffer size 30104, period size 3760 bytes
TiMidity starting in ALSA server mode
Opening sequencer port: 129:0 129:1 129:2 129:3

See if http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1700943 helps with rosengarten?

Kelebek333 - I've tried commands and I got this:
dais@dais-Compaq ~ $ sudo modprobe snd-seq
[sudo] password for dais:
dais@dais-Compaq ~ $ timidity -iA
Requested buffer size 32768, fragment size 8192
ALSA pcm 'default' set buffer size 30104, period size 3760 bytes
TiMidity starting in ALSA server mode
Opening sequencer port: 131:0 131:1 131:2 131:3
Mr. remoulder, I started to read this ubuntuforum, didn't got anything working yet, but I'm on a beginning of all this mess.
Thank you, guys for replies.

Re: Just found - .midi files are not playing in Katya
Yeeh, I'm tired of looking a remedy for all this. In ubuntuforums case was with timidity working in command line mode, but in my case I can't hear anything running timidity from command line, so all the rest is useless. I read timidity docs and I think, that I know it for sure now. There should be something else omho. Any ideas?
Re: Just found - .midi files are not playing in Katya
O! Finally I got it working! First, I find, that my timidity is working, just I never used it like I should from command line. Mint IRC channel helped me a lot in that (special thanks to oOze). After that I followed mr. remoulder s link to ubuntuforum, did like they said and voila!
