I'm wanting to get a new laptop so I'm looking for update information with respect to 64-bit architecture. I'm especially interested in knowing if it does ok with Mint, how it works with either a dual boot or virtual machine, and what are the chief advantages or disadvantages.
I've been checking multiple distros, but it would be nice to be able to correspond with someone that is actually doing it. Thanks.

Re: 64-bit Machines and Mint
There's no problem what so ever running Mint on a 64 bit machine - I have been doing it since I started
The same goes for multiple cores
The only risk may be that some chipset contains things without support in the kernel - yet
Intel 3100 seems to be an example
This is really a support question - topic moved
