When I use the program "top" in Terminal to see why LinuxMint is so slow I noticed something.
I have a 4 core CPU. Looking at how it's being used in "top" shows:
5.6%us, 2.2%sys, 0.0%ni, 96.6%id
One processor core appears to be saturated for the "id" process it is being used for.
Can anyone else use Ubuntu or Debian and show what "top" shows under that system? What is the "id" process running on that core?

Re: Figuring out LinuxMint's lag
id is not a process - it stands for idle. What kind of lag are you trying to figure out?
