[SOLVED] How remove/uninstall virtualbox guest additions

Hi I'm a new convert to Mint (like many other, I couldn't stand Unity).
I'm pretty impressed with Mint.

I installed Mint 13 XFCE into a Virtualbox VM. I then copied the VM disk to a physical machine.
I want to remove the Virtualbox Guest Additions.

First, I should ask... is it necessary to remove the guest additions? The machine seems to run great and I see the vb modules are not loaded.

Second, if I do remove the guest additions, how do I do it... uh er, cleanly?

I only know of two methods, however neither are feasible:
  • run /opt/virtualbox_blah/uninstall.sh... however this file does not exist
  • remove using the script from the installation CD... however I did not install vb guest additions from the CD as the mint install somehow magically installed the guest additions
Thanks

No.

But if you feel you realy have to -
remove (via “apt-get remove”): virtualbox-guest-utils mdm
