Update manager problem

Postby MarekB » Fri Oct 04, 2013 1:09 pm

Not long after I installed mint 15 cinnamon, update manager started to report that it could not get the packages with an assortment of errors. I found on this forum an answer which worked after a fashion:

Code: Select all

sudo rm -fv /var/lib/apt/lists/*

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update

No errors after that. Now though, update manager works and says that there are updates available, but shows no information. The information boxes are empty, but the status line at the bottom says that there are;
"n Recomended Updates available (xxKB)"

It still updates and I can watch the packages comming in and being installed, but I get no preview.

Hello, MarekB.

Could it be this problem? => Update Manager Issues
If this is not the answer then inside the mintUpdate application window verify
+ View => Visible columns: Are they all unchecked? Re-enable them.
+ Edit => Preferences. Column "Visible". All items unchecked? Re-enable them.

Kind regards,
Old bugs good, new bugs bad! Updates are evil: might fix old bugs and introduce no new ones.
