wine cannot find ctfmon.exe why?

i have been trying to install and run the game world of tanks, i believe to be a 32 bit program.
i have a 64 bit OS on a 64 bit PC. i have wine installed and it is 32bit version 1.6. and i have playonlinux version 4.2 installed

every single time i try to install WOT i will get playonlinux crashing when i click run. i have done a debug and get the error that wine cannot find L c:\WINDOWS\System32\ctfmon.exe.
i'm wondering why wine cannot find this.
the game does continue to download , however when i launch the game it stops loading just as i enter the garage. i can hear the sounds continuing in the garage but i cannot see it.
i have un-installed it numerous times and tried fresh install but always the same symptoms

any advice on checks i can do to get this game working will be very appreciated.

My wine install doesn't have a ctfmon.exe; apparently it's part of "Office":

This guy had the same error:

"The solution was to install vcrun2012 in playonlinux. "

You are using a 64-bit WINEPREFIX. If you encounter problems, please retest in a clean 32-bit WINEPREFIX before reporting a bug.

i got this message when opening up winetricks, would someone know what this means and how i can "retest".
i would have presumed i would have a 32bit prefix, could the 64bit wineprefix be part of the issue why wine cannot find the 32 bit .exe?

i think i also need to upgrade something as vcrun2012 does not appear in the list when i try to add it.

thanks for the help cosmo, this is doing my head in, i seem to be going round and round in circles and getting nowhere. most articles i find on this subject seem to fizzle out without a definite solution. same on the nvidia drivers issue i have
i think i just need to give up games for a while until linux gets their Os to run in a less hit and miss fashion. no wonder i spent my life using windows, click it and it installs and works. Its rarely that simple in linux, i have had one problem after another, maybe i'm just unlucky but i need to take a break from trying to fix this OS or i am heading for a nervous breakdown
thanks for all help.

There is nothing to fix in Linux. The program is a Windows program; wine may or maybe not able to run it, in this case obviously not.

You might install VirualBox and install Windows in a virtual machine, where you can install the program in its own environment.

Hello!
I recently botched up my partitions after I set up my computer to dual-boot with Windows10. Apparently, Microxxxx is charging for boot disks now.
Now, I am running only Mint, & have been working on getting into WOT game again. The following link is where I am starting (after four full game-install & reformatting 'failures')
https://worldoftanks.eu/en/content/soft ... rams/1311/

I will keep everybody posted in any way of success!
