Suspension doesn't work anymore

Hello, I've missing in this forum for lot of time!

Now, a problem that appeared recently from nowhere on my laptop needs a solution.

The suspension work, but I'm not able to resume the laptop from suspension. Few day ago I was able to do that just by opening the lid. Now I can't:

When I suspend the laptop (or close the lid) every things look OK and the notification blinks intermittently. But, when I open the lid, I can ear the HD starting and the notification led turns ON, but the monitor remains black.

How can I make a diagnosis and find a solution?

Try to removing and replacing the battery un-bricks the laptop, so that's a workaround at least.
