Update manager not working

Update manager not working

Linux mint 8.2 with cinnamon.

I'm finding that the update manager isn't working. Yes, it seems to be in memory:
ps -A | grep -i update
4376 ? 00:00:01 mintUpdate

But, the icon alerting about new updates never shows in my panel.

If I run update manager from the menu it does not show any available updates until I do a refresh.

Here is my current settings. Not sure if I understand what it is trying to do :)
