How to use 6 letter password? Linux Mint 18.2 Cinnamon

Post by pinux »

When you install Mint you can give root user 6 letter password without problems, but if you change that or create new user it requires 8 letters. Even in terminal passwd command requires 8 letters.

Can i remove that restriction somehow? All my other computers have 6 letter passwd and would like this to have same also.

Code: Select all

sudo passwd <user>
Do not use this:

Code: Select all

sudo passwd
