BBC IPlayer & VPN

I live in the UK and use BBC Iplayer all perfectly legal.
You cannot use BBC Iplayer outside the UK!
Will be out of the country for a month or so and will miss BBC!!!!!!
Is the following a valid..... If I subscribe to a UK VPN and connect to IPlayer will it think I'm in the UK and won't prevent me viewing?????
While on the subject need a cheap simple laptop to run MINT (of course!) and have a decent screen size and be light in weight...........
Basically just powerful enough to do the minimum.
Any suggestions?

If you use a vpn provider's server in the UK/GB, then no matter where you are, you should be able to view BBC content and use "iplayer".

As for low-cost laptops capable of running Linux Mint, check Ebay, Amazon.com, local newspapers, computer clubs, etc... Wherever you are going for a month might also have places to get a good used or new low cost laptop. There are posts in this forum on this topic, if you search for them.
