RSS feed for torrents.linuxmint.com

Post by chocolatkey » Sat Nov 25, 2017 10:51 pm

Hello,
I was wondering if it would be possible to have an RSS feed available for torrent clients of those who would like to seed the latest releases for others. I saw an old thread mentioning this, but "Mirroring Linux Mint" is not what I am looking for. https://torrents.linuxmint.com/ has a nice directory listing, and I was wondering if something like this could be made in RSS form that torrent clients would be able to recognize. If you need some code for that, I'm more than happy to write it.

There's an RSS feed for the blog which announces releases as soon as they're available which might be of some use to you.

Yes, that's nice but the torrent clients aren't smart enough to find something in the wordpress feed. I'm talking about something like for example https://torrent.fedoraproject.org/ has https://torrent.fedoraproject.org/rss20.xml, which is an rss feed with direct links to the torrents. I know it's possible to do manually, but I've gotten to the point where I'm seeding enough distros that it becomes a burden to check every site's blog, and it's also great for the distributor to have rss feeds available because this ensures the most dedicated group of seeders automatically starts seeding the ISOs as soon as they are released, providing swift access for all. As I said, if it's an issue of code, I can gladly provide something, I just don't want to have to start programming custom scripts for each distro's site when some lines of server-side code could make it easier for all of us.
