I don't know if hidden feature is how to call this, I don't actually know what it is and how to change the setting.
I remember that long time ago with firefox I saved few bookmarks. Instead to press the icon on the bookmarks bar, with firefox was possible to set a text shortcut.
eg.
bookmark > https://forums.linuxmint.com
shortcut > mint
that means that every time I put in the search bar the word "mint" it will open the bookmark https://forums.linuxmint.com.
I then switched to chrome and imported all the bookmarks. Also in chrome if I put the word "mint" it will redirect to the bookmark. I can't find how to change this setting on chrome. For example I'd like to change it in "mintforum".
Another problem that I have is, when I delete the bookmark because the address changed, if I digit "mint" I'll still be redirected to https://forums.linuxmint.com even though on the bookmark manager is not present anymore. Searching for "mint" or https://forums.linuxmint.com in the bookmark manager doesn't return any result. However, using the word "mint" in the search bar and pressing enter will go to the https://forums.linuxmint.com. The cache and history is cleared.
Any thoughts?

I think you are looking for Chrome custom search engine: https://support.google.com/customsearch ... 0963?hl=en

No, it is not this.orschiro wrote:I think you are looking for Chrome custom search engine: https://support.google.com/customsearch ... 0963?hl=en
It's like a shortcut for bookmarks. Somehow I was able to set a specific word to use for launching a specific bookmark.

I think I know exactly what you mean. I use those bookmarks on all my browser profiles. What you need to do is simply this:
1- go to your bookmarks (you should see 'other bookmarks' on the right if you have a lot of them)
2- when you have the menu open with the various bookmarks, drag the one you need over to your main bar under URL
3- Right click over the bookmark and click edit
4- put in what ever name you want

Not sure this is what I need. This will change the description of the bookmark.
In my case it is slightly different. For example I had a bookmark called CIAO, that lead me to the www.abc.xyz . Every time I text CIAO in the bar and hit "enter", I get that website. CIAO is nowhere in the website URL. This is kind of personal shortcut.
Then I deleted the webstite because it was deleted. I'd like to edit the CIAO so I can redirect to the new website but I can't find where to edit.
If I look in the bookmark manager I can't find CIAO or www.abc.xyz (because I deleted it).
But if I give the CIAO + "enter" in the search bar, I go redirected to the website. This happen also with the cache cleared.
