Credit Karma offers FREE tax service and e-filing but I'm not sure about Canadian You could check though. I've used it and compared it with TurboTax and it was right on.

The only 2 reasons I have Win7 in a VM is for updating my camera/lenses and studio tax (free), I've never found a Canadian tax app for Linux and I don't want to use the cloud.

My recommendation? Use an 'agnostic' web-based tax prep web site. I have been using SimpleTax for years now, and I think it is great!
