Wife is an absolute computer ignoramus. She even has trouble playing movies over the network. Since I've loaded Mint onto her computer, her problems have been all MY doing. i.e. I've turned the server off for some reason. Number of times I've needed to enter a password on her machine? Once, when I did some FS mods, yesterday. I'll update her machine tonight. Security is good, it prevents her from accidentally changing something.
