Re: Desktop Security

Wife is an absolute computer ignoramus. She even has trouble playing movies over the network. Since I've loaded Mint onto her computer, her problems have been all MY doing. i.e. I've turned the server off for some reason. Number of times I've needed to enter a password on her machine? Once, when I did some FS mods, yesterday. I'll update her machine tonight. Security is good, it prevents her from accidentally changing something.

As to the concern about "lack of security" on user files. Therein lies the problem, somewhere we MUST take responsibility for our actions. That's why the first three rules of computing have always been

Kernel: 4.15.0-36-generic x86_64 bits: 64
Desktop: Cinnamon 3.8.9
Distro: Linux Mint 19 Tara

Laptop T4500 Dualcore 4Gb RAM
Server AMD Phenom 9650 - GEForce 9400GT 6Gb RAM
+ three other Linux Mint machines
Out of my mind - please leave a message
