Re: Update history empty
Open synaptic -> file menu -> history. What does this give?
Re: Update history empty
Via Terminal
Code: Select all
egrep -w 'upgrade|install' /var/log/dpkg.log
Code: Select all
cat /var/log/apt/history.log
Re: Update history empty
No idea. From what I see in the code the update manager seems to use the same history.log file as synaptic. As UM shows only a part of the history, there must be a filter somewhere, but I did not find it.
See after the next updates, if the history in UM fills itself again.

I did - it keeps empty : rgCosmo. wrote: ⤴Tue Apr 24, 2018 3:44 pmNo idea. From what I see in the code the update manager seems to use the same history.log file as synaptic. As UM shows only a part of the history, there must be a filter somewhere, but I did not find it.

Re: Update history empty
Create a fresh new user account with admin-type (so it is member of the group sudo). Do the next update from the test account. (This does not make any difference for the system.) Same there?
Re: Update history empty
The history magically came back
Don't know why it was gone and neither why it's back now -
