Image thumbnail for folder
I currently have nemo 3.6.5 as file manager, there does not seem to be a way to add an image thumbnail to a folder. Is there a file manager that allows so, and how?

Select the folder and open it with - right click > Properties.
Click on the symbol and select a suitable subject in the dialog box that opens.

Under Properties>Emblems you can select and emblem, not an image.

These are the peculiarities of Mate and Cinnamon.
In Mate (or Gnome 2...) you can do things like that.
