How to set up thunderbird as default??

Hi I would like to set up Thunderbird as default for email, it works with OpenOffice.
But when i try to send a document from the home folder it opens evolution :x
and Thunderbird is set in preferred applications as default.
please help.

Try removing these packages, it should eliminate the association with Evolution.

I looked in the "Control Center" on my system under "Preferred Applications" and for "Mail Reader" the only choice is Mozilla Thunderbird. So deleting the above mentioned packages should do the trick.

Hi, Thank you at least I do not have evolution popping whenever I click on send a file .
