Suspend issues

Hi guys, this is my first time posting in here. I'm currently on Mint 19, and I'm facing this weird issue where when I suspend the system and resume it back, all the applications are closed and cinnamon starts as if it were restarted. I couldn't find this issue anywhere on the forums and I also have Windows 10 installed and the system is running under dual boot.
