I have been using www.evernote.com for over 2 decades...
in the past they have tried to force upgrades that I don't want, and I have refused to do it.
I don't need, or want the new features, KISS is my moto, and it has worked for 20+ years.
Tonight, logging in again, after having only been off of the PC for about 3 hours, I get the statement that I must use Chrome or Safari.... WTH?
I never use either one of those, hate the way they work as a matter of fact.
Firefox is the only browser I will use...
they left one little button that said "Continue to old version".
I chose that, and I'm back in business.
Was just wondering if anyone else is using Evernote, and have you been running into these issues?

Without seeing the exact statement it isn't possible to say if you perhaps misinterpreted it or if it's misworded.

Re: Evernote trying to force us to use only Chrome or Safari
yeah,
I should have made a screenshot.
it was very obvious though, I used the same link I always have to get it to come up,
and instead of opening my account, it said "your browser is not supported, you must use Chrome or Safari".
I have had the tab closed now for a couple of hours, and just reopened it yet again, and it opened the "old version" like it is suppose to.
I remember about 8 years ago on Windows that they upgraded the desktop software, and removed a lot of the features that I wanted, and moved them to a "Premium level"..... that irked me a lot, as I had just clicked on the button for the "better security" version w/o thinking about it.
I had to go to FileHippo.com to recover the original desktop app version that I wanted, and just ignored their upgrades after that. the Windows version is now so polluted, that I just abandoned the desktop app, and use the web access only now. It keeps trying to reload the entire database before the desktop app will display. very aggravating. it should only be linking to changes, not reloading the database.

Re: Evernote trying to force us to use only Chrome or Safari
web clipper is made for retrieving notes, not the actual database itself.
I have tried it before, and unusable for me.
