Linux Mint restart failure

Post by AlexanderX4 »

Hi,
I am currently running Linux Mint 18.3 64-bit with Cinnamon version 3.6.7. My kernel version is 4.15.0-34-generic.

Every time I restart my machine, the mint logo with the dots below is displayed for a while, but then the screen just goes black. The power button and keyboard back-lighting are still on at this point. The only thing I can do is hold the power button to fully shut down my computer, and then boot it up as usual.

Shutting down from Linux works perfectly fine, it is just the restart option that does not seem to work.

What about
  • sudo init 6
? That's command mode restart?
