Will not Shutdown on Critical Battery

Post by Chaotajo »

My laptop (a Toshiba NB 505) does not shutdown on critical battery, although it seems to start the process. LM 17 & 18 worked fine for this. Anyone know what is going on? :(

Like anything else, Linux will force you to pick and choose your battles, there are so many. Currently using 21.3 Vanessa. I love women and I love our distro's interesting names!

you need to display the output of inxi -Fzxd

and insert it inside the code brackets shown above the editor, what you did does not provide enough information

Does it shut down normally when you initiate it yourself?

Maybe an unsaved document is halting the shutdown process; there may be something in the logs too. Hibernate is probably a better option, if it works OK on your system (it may be fixable if it doesn't).

Code: Select all

cat /var/log/syslog.1 | tail -25
following reboot from such an event might reveal something.
