have Cinnamon developer give option to disable mouse pad when usb mouse is inserted
Can someone contact the developer of Cinnamon give option to disable mouse pad when usb mouse is inserted and then re-enable the mouse pad once the usb mouse is disconnected? the mouse pad doesn't get automatically disabled once i reinsert the usb transceiver. sigh. again, windows kick ass in this area. this feature had been missing in linux for over 10 years. same dangit issue. right now, there's a disable mouse pad and previously i accidentally disabled the mousepad and usb mouse without ability to click it back as I would on windows by using alt tab.

Re: have Cinnamon developer give option to disable mouse pad when usb mouse is inserted
Hello webstuff,
I Don't believe that is an option in Cinnamon yet at least I have never found it. There is an apt that may work called touchpad indicator which can be added from this PPA. https://launchpad.net/~atareao/+archive/ubuntu/atareao it has a setting under preferences that will automatically disable the touchpad when mouse is plugged in.
That allows you to disable the touchpad when you want. My laptop has a function key that will disable the touchpad and works quite well.
Hope that's of help. KDE is the only DE I know that has a setting that automatically disables touchpad when external mouse is plugged in. Unfortunately Mint has dropped support of that Desktop since 19. Good luck.
