Need help:How to install "Skype" in "Mint "Bianca"

Postby north-channel » Fri Jun 01, 2007 11:17 am

I just installed Bianca and got the pci wifi going with help of experienced Linux person.
BTW i really want "Skype" and hopefully other chat aids for my club communication.
Its a bit of a jungle for a windows dependent person.
Tried to d/l "Skype" version for debian last night (tar stuff etc.)...but installation is not going well and I am lost in new system.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Your first point of contact for installing anything on Bianca is synaptic package installer on mint menu, 2nd or 3rd from the bottom.

Open this, and search for whatever you need to install. This is as close to windows as you will get - in fact its better since it will auto-update everything!

Yes - mintinstall is not for Bianca, but synaptics is :)
