Session gets killed after lock screen was active

Post by sebbo »

Hey there,

couldn't find something that fits my symptom after some searching - hope i have not overseen something.

For some time now i have the following problem:

When i leave my laptop for some time and i come back, the session is locked. Thats fine as it is supposed to be like that.

However when i type my Password the screen goes black for a moment only for the lock screen to appear again.

I type the password for a second time and a new blank session is loading - as if i had rebooted my laptop or had logged out before.

Thats quite annoying to put it in nice words...

Because the syslog is rather long (i kept the ~100 lines of killing subprocess of chromium) i attached it as a plain/text.

What i have seen everytime is this:

Code: Select all

Feb 25 17:21:51 sebastian-hp lightdm: pam_ecryptfs: pam_sm_authenticate: /home/sebastian is already mounted
After that all running processes seem to get killed.

If i google for "lightdm: pam_ecryptfs: pam_sm_authenticate" i find some quite old bugs, but i'm not sure/ i dont understand if they relate any longer.

I checked if this https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... ug/1154092 might be a problem, but the two mentioned files (.Xauthority and .ICEauthority) are both owned by my user (chmod 600).

This one here sounds also quite similar https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... ug/1076906
but this is 6 years old and libgcrypt in Mint19 is now >1.8.0

Anyone ever heard of the symptoms or knows which logfile i should check?

I'd appreciate some help here, thanks

Small bump with an Update:

i have the feeling that this only happens, when i have my laptop in its docking station and it is connected to my monitor.

When i have it running "on the go" and the screen locks, this never happened sofar. But when it is docked, the reproducibility of this is almost 100%.
