[Solved] How to stop showing packages to be updated on tty login?

Post by augustusrex » Sun Sep 01, 2019 12:28 pm

Hi,

Every time I log in in a tty terminal I get a message about how many packages that can be updated. This annoys me. Is there any way to make it stop?

The image shows how it looks when I log in on a tty terminal. The "Failed to connect"-error is because of no internet connection and is not to be worried about.

I found a solution. By commenting out, or removing, the files "90-update-available" and "91-release-upgrade" in folder /etc/update-motd.d the messages stopped.
