Security

Postby gerj » Sun Jun 24, 2007 11:57 am

While browsing through synaptis to see whats available, I have yet to find any security software such as virus detection, adware, or malware protection. So where is it? I prefer not to have my computer riddled with tracking cookies, trojens, virus' etc.

Ok! I'll buy that for now but I'm still not 100% confident of Ubuntu/Mint's security.
But it has eased my concern a bit, thanks.

It seems you are in need of re-education so we can get that BS Microsoft thinking out of your tortured mind?

Know then that not all operating systems have an unsafe crap design by default.

Different OS's = different problems. Viruses and adware crap are not a problem here. Stupid server admins and human hackers however are a different story.

This was discussed at great length here:

I read an article regarding switching over to Linux.

The article stated that if you knew Windows you were at a disadvantage!

I have been running Linux based systems for almost four years, no viruses or security problems of any kind. Rest assured, your system is secure!
