I recently installed edge on my son's gaming laptop, and it works great (thanks again, Clem!). SInce my laptop is a (budget) gaming system, I'm thinking of using Edge as well. I did boot it from USB and it ran so well I really couldn't tell it was running from USB...no lag starting any apps at all.
I have a few questions and a request for advice:
1. Is Cinnamon compatible with Gnome-based apps?
2. While using the USB-boot, Nvidia control center was blank when launched, but drivers did set to latest proprietary drivers easily. Does the control center need to be installed after installing Edge to HDD/SSD?
3. Both my laptop screen & external monitor run at 144hz refresh rate, but display settings would only allow 120hz for the laptop and slightly under 144hz for the monitor (for the monitor, I had to set it as primary display for 144hz to show up as an option). Is this typical? Note: This doesn't happen using LM 20.1 Mate.
I would greatly appreciate some advice regarding whether my hardware would be suited to using Edge, and what problems I may encounter (if any) with using it. Below is my
inxi -F
output.
