Music players should not inhibit brightness reductiion?

Post by BeyondLies_MintForum »

Am I right in thinking the following? A music playing application, such as Lollipop or mpv, will inhibit power-saving and, thereby, inhibit all of (1) the screensaver, (2) suspend, (3) the brightness being reduced after a period of idleness?

If I am right, is that not bad for battery life because coarse-grained? That is, surely music players - as against video players - should do 1 and 2 but not 3? I do not want to play music when using battery power and pointlessly take the power hit that is the lack of 3.
