Hi, I am running Linux Mint Mate 19.1 on a Lenovo T480 laptop. Within the past two days (I believe after a kernel update) my laptop has started acting strangely. Often it fails to boot. When it does boot the mouse is frozen, or I am unable to change the volume, Firefox crashes, etc. The current kernel is 4.15.0-151. When I instead boot with kernel 4.15.0-147, all of those problems go away. My laptop is dual boot and I am not experiencing any problems with Windows either. So, I can carry on, but it is clear that the 151 kernel has some major problems. I may try an upgrade to 19.3 if necessary, but I have no other current reason to upgrade. I cannot find any other place to report this kernel bug.

Re: Kernel 4.15.0-151 causes major problems
Welcome to the forum, Richard.
This forum is where users help other users. Kernel bugs go on launchpad.
One way to report bugs is to open Update Manager, select View > Linux Kernels and then click continue. Then select 4.15 in the left pane and click on a kernel in the right pane. When you do that, the first link which appears is bug reports. That link takes you to the list of bugs already reported on that specific kernel. You can add a new bug (if yours is not listed) by clicking the "Report a Bug" link in the upper right.
Since you may have removed the -151 kernel already, here is a post with two bugs reported on 4.15.0-151. I do not have the 4.15 kernel, so I can not provide the direct link to the bugs for 4.15.0-151.

Thank you for your reply. Here is the information for my system. Of course, this was done while booted into the 147 Kernel.

Re: Kernel 4.15.0-151 causes major problems
Thank you. I found a number of bug reports related to Kernel 151 via the Update Manager. I see that there is already a beta kernel -- 153 -- which seems to be working for some people. So, I will continue to use 147 until 153 is available.
Thank you for your patience and kind help.

Re: Kernel 4.15.0-151 causes major problems
Hi Richard, I'm running 19.3 and getting the same problems so don't think an upgrade would make any difference for you.
Getting the occasional app freeze, but lock up on boot more often. Typically happening on the login screen and the only way out is a hard power off, which I don't like doing.
I'm going to revert back to an earlier kernel, but thought I'd let you know that 19.3 also affected.
