Suspend not working after update, but works on ISO

Post by acejavelin »

So for some reason Suspend/Sleep is not working after upgrading from LM 20.3 -> 21, after the upgrade any attempt to suspend from the setting the power button or from the shutdown menu simply puts me at the lock screen.

Odd part is that suspend works when booted from the ISO image, and works when using `sudo systemctl hybrid-sleep` and `sudo pm-suspend` things work as expected, it only fails if I select "Suspend" from the shutdown menu, do a `sudo systemctl suspend` or when setting the power button action to Suspend, just putting me in the lock screen instead of going to sleep.

Everything else is working as expected, and I have had little to no issues after the upgrade, except for suspend. The fact that some methods and booting off the the ISO it works, makes me thing there is a simple settings change here to fix this.

Thank you!

Re: Suspend not working after update, but works on ISO

Post by lenny54linux »

Same for me, I upgraded to LM 20.2 and the comp. will not suspend or shut down, it just reboots. I close the lid on the dell laptop and it stays on, i select suspend and it blinks and returns to log-in. I can't leave it un plugged or the battery gets fully drained.
