I don't know what it is called but when I open a terminal, at the top is the text that I think is supposed to be some kind of humor. The last time I installed Mint I believe it gave me an option eiither at install time or my first boot up to disable this, but I either missed it when I was installing Mint 8.0 or they removed this option.
I couldn't do a google or Mint forum search because I have no idea what this terminal humor is called.....so here I am ! How do I disable this terminal behavior ?

Found by searching on the mint forums.
Open a terminal:
type: gksu gedit /etc/bash.bashrc
At the very end of the file, remove or comment out the line:
/usr/bin/mint-fortune to look like this :
# /usr/bin/mint-fortune
Save & close the file. Done !
