What version of Skype Cassandra has?

Postby anantgowerdhan » Fri Jul 13, 2007 4:32 pm

Hi guys,

I'm downloading Mint after reading beautiful review of this distro. I would like to know what Version of Skype and Gizmo does it have in its repositories?

Also interested to know whether Wengophone available in repository?

Skype needs to be added via an external repo. You need to add the line below to this file: /etc/apt/sources.list (this needs to be done with super-user's "root" priviledges, e.g. sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list ...)

Code: Select all

# Skype
deb http://download.skype.com/linux/repos/debian/ stable non-free

apt-cache show skype shows that the latest version that is available for Linux is 1.4.0 ... they are lagging way behind the Windows versions unfortunately.

Code: Select all

Can't find anything about that other software you mention: "gizmo". Never heard about that one.
