More details please. How did you try it? Also, you may want to try these web pages, chances are you might find more useful infos there:

Thanks for the prompt response.

I found a link on the forum that explained how to sync a pocket pc and followed these instructions

http://www.ubuntugeek.com/pocket-pc-syn ... buntu.html

all went OK until I tried to create the index and received the following cryptic message

unable to open file: /home/paul/.synce/active_connection
[rapi_context_connect:100] Failed to get connection info
[main:62] Failed to initialize RAPI

I tried both index 1 and 2 without success.

Try the SyncE pages above, that's probably your best chance. Also, did you try the Ubuntu Forums? Maybe someone already had a similar problem and posted something useful?

So here I am, almost a year later and I still can't sync my phone. I've tried loads of suggested ways - I even tried a load of other distros (even Mandriva which claims to work -it didn't), didn't like most of them and came back home to Mint.

Has anyone had success with syncing a Windows smartphone with Linux - I hate having to fire up Windows just to keep my data secure.

Any help gratefully received,

Paul

I blue-tooth files from my Windows Smartphone to my Linux Mint machine. Sorry, I know it's not much help. :)
