Login Problem

Postby kierane » Tue Aug 07, 2007 7:47 am

hi,

After running Bastille Linux on my system, I cannot log in to the terminal as root. I can log in with other accounts but not as root. This has limited my use of the system.

Even after doing a revert and re-installing mint several times, it's still the same error message: SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR IS NOT ALLOWED TO LOG IN FROM THIS SCREEN :(

Is there anything i can do to solve this problem?

Thank you

This is one of these oddities.....
I must confess I've never heard of Bastille Linux so I checked their home page
Marketing bullsh-t Windows style..... Could be very useful still
This seems to be something Bastille Linux wants to achieve...
log in to the terminal as root
I suppose you mean can't use sudo.
Is Mint the only operating system in that computer?
If so and you have reinstalled completely we may have to use the heavy artillery. Describe your situation a bit better, including status of backups, we may have to wipe that disk clean.

Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it
