What you need to do is open a Terminal and input,

sudo dpkg --configure -a

press Enter

input your password

press Enter

Then exit the Terminal.

I tried this several times paying close attention to my input but all I got was a message that said this was not a known input ?

I don't know what I did different but I followed the last suggestion and it worked !
What a good feeling to try to fix something and actually be able to do it. ( With a little help from my friends)
Thanks a lot !
