Im trying to connect to irc.spotchat.org with xchat so I can join the linux mint support channel.
I keep getting this error:
* Looking up irc.spotchat.org
* Unknown host. Maybe you misspelled it?
Cycling to next server in Linux Mint Server...
* Disconnected ().

Is anyone else having this problem? Has the server changed addresses?

Re: Cant connect to irc.spotchat.org
denic has issues currently.
since the lookup of the server address does access the nameserver by dns name, it currently does not work since i have no backup dns name for the nameservers of spotchat.org set, and it would not make much sense now since it would take quite some time to deploy this changes
all we can do is waiting now, i apologise.
edit: seems to be working again, slowly, but it works, i can at least resolve the names of the dns servers responsible for spotchat.org

Re: Cant connect to irc.spotchat.org
I have the same issue.
I am connecting from my Mac mini (mid 2011), macOS High Sierra Version 10.13.6.
I need support on why Mint won't connect to my Wi-Fi Hotspot for Internet.
I actually run Linux Mint 20.1 Ulyssa 64-bit, Kernel 5.4.0-65-generic x86_64, MATE 1.24.0 on my main computer.
However, the Wi-Fi sees my iPhone SE's Wi-Fi Hotspot, asks for password, configures Wi-Fi network, but doesn't connect.
I tried with iPhone USB cable into Linux Mint computer, but no Hotspot Internet.
Basically I need Internet on my main machine (Linux Mint).
